 The ABA is looking to build a digital marketing crew to help build on our brand and get our services and products out to interested people and businesses.  Covid has changed how we work and play so we had to make some changes on how we keep building up our Basketball brand.

CJ Henderson & American Basketball Association Launch ABA STAR Program

 

CJ Henderson and the American Basketball Association launch the ABA STAR Program.  STAR or Stand Tall Against Racism is a program geared towards stamping out racism in sport and in life.   We will also be raising funds to help fund youth athletic scholarships, as a way to help young athletes as they go forward with their sporting careers. 

With everything happening in the world right now every professional sports league seems to have a program designed to create awareness of social injustice. Being the largest professional sports league in the US with over 175 teams and being the most diversified sports league ever with over 75% of our teams owned by African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians and women, we decided to take a leadership role for our game and sport.

We launched the ABA STAR Program – Stand Tall Against Racism – the program is designed to promote getting rid of racism in sport and in life.  

We have partnered with a really great hotel sponsor and when people use their service for – Weekend Getaways – Vacation – Business stays the hotels donate a portion of the revenue to our cause. Covid has turned the world upside down but we know it will slowly get back to normal.

ABA Team Owner Sharon Blacknall

 

Sharon M. Blacknall is the Vice President of Administration for Bertram Village in Eleuthera, the Bahamas, Regional Co-Director for the American Basketball Association (ABA) South Central Region, Managing Partner of the Tri-City All-Stars ABA Professional Basketball team, Founder of the nonprofit, Military Veterans Against Child Abuse, VP of Youth Safety Education for Hip Hop Motorsports, Founding Board Member of The All-Stars Cares Foundation, Honorary Board Member for the Humanity Coalition, Business Management Consultant, Motivational Speaker and a Children’s Book Author.

She is a USAF Veteran who has more than 25 years of experience hiring, managing and training employees, mentoring entrepreneurs, handling multi-million dollar budgets from initial bidding to the award and procurement phase, and advocating against child abuse of any kind. She also has previous experience as a Certified Residential and FHA Appraiser and ran a successful company that was one of the top three appraisal companies used by a national home builder in Southern Nevada for many years.

Sharon has written two preschool safety books, which were awarded the Family Review Center’s Best of 2014 Award. The books are currently in use in many child development centers and Head Start classrooms. She also developed two innovative safety and anti-bullying programs for three to ten-year-olds and a new child abuse prevention educational program for adults, Safe and Unafraid – Child Abuse Prevention Training and Certification, which is distributed through her nonprofit Military Veterans
